Wonky Bowls and Elf Mugs

Mrs Claus thought it would be fun for us to try something new today, pottery class! “We’ll each make a lovely mug,” she said, smiling. “It’ll be relaxing!”

Well… it didn’t quite go that way.

Mrs Claus sat down and carefully shaped her clay. She made the most beautiful mug I’ve ever seen with little elf ears on the sides! She even painted it with snowflakes and a red ribbon. It looked like something you’d see in a Christmas window.

Me? I tried to make a bowl. Just a bowl! But the clay went squish… then plop… and then flop! When I was finished, it looked like a wonky reindeer head with one eye bigger than the other. I’m not sure how it happened.

Mrs Claus said, “It’s very… imaginative.” That’s her kind way of saying “Oh dear.”

Today’s magical thought:Trying something new can be messy and funny—and that’s what makes it fun!
